The naked calendar was WOW’s first fundraiser and its popularity has continued to grow over the last 13 years. Today, we sell approximately 200 copies a year and generate thousands of dollars in profit to give back to the community.
The calendar embodies our commitment to empower our members and women in the community to feel comfortable with who they are and find their power within their vulnerability.
EVERY YEAR....
Each year we pick a new theme for the calendar and each calendar is composed of our existing WOW members. There's nothing more beautiful in our eyes than the raw, natural beauty of each and every woman. We’re all different and beautiful — that’s something to celebrate.
WHAT YOU SEE....
While the process is long and we spend a lot of time trying to get everything right, it’s a positive experience for our members to create something like this from scratch. The final product wouldn’t be possible without our talented photographer Craig Burgwardt and graphic designer Matt Perusi.
IT'S NOT EVERYDAY.…
That we wake up and look at our bodies. To then look at ourselves with positive conviction is truly sometimes the most difficult thing to do; especially with society's rule of being a certain size and weight. During these photo shoots, please do not think for a second that some of us did not require enormous amounts of encouragement. For some, it was a true struggle, which led to complete empowerment of themselves when all said and done. For others... well, some members just show up ready to get NAKED!
