The mission of WOW is to provide an outlet for women in the community to join forces with the purpose and collective passion of supporting the needs of women & children in Haywood County.

Our Impact

Women of Waynesville is an all-women, all-volunteer non profit with the sole mission of supporting the needs of women and children in Haywood County. We are real women raising real awareness and real money for real causes. Since 2012, WOW has raised more than $275,000 to support local women and children and other local charities through unique fundraisers.

Established in 2018 in memory of a founding member, the Lynda Chovan Memorial Scholarship has helped to send eight young women from Haywood County to college.

Our Leadership

Women of Waynesville is volunteer led and volunteer run with zero paid staff and is overseen by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is responsible for overall policy and direction of the organization. The Board meets monthly (and on an as needed basis) and consists of seven members, as follows for the 2025/2026 fiscal year.
